Wyndham Road in Salisbury to undergo essential upgrades with staged closures
Wyndham Road in Salisbury will close in multiple stages for nearly two months to accommodate the replacement of a gas main and related work.
Wiltshire Council has announced that sections of the road will be shut from March 9 to May 1 to allow SGN’s contractors to perform necessary upgrades and associated tasks.
The closures will be implemented across three phases:
- Phase 1: Wyndham Road from its junction with Queens Road for approximately 90 metres heading east.
- Phase 2: The stretch from Queens Road to Swaynes Close will be closed.
- Phase 3: The final segment from Swaynes Close to Kings Road will be affected.
For each phase, formal diversion routes will be established to redirect traffic via alternative streets, including Queens Road, St Mark’s Road, Estcourt Road, Bourne Hill, Bedwin Street, Endless Street, Belle Vue Road, Albany Road, Castle Street, and Scots Lane.
The council notes that access for residents and local businesses will be preserved where feasible, though motorists should anticipate delays due to the nature of the work.
The temporary traffic regulation order becomes active on March 9 and is anticipated to last until May 1, weather permitting. The order may extend up to 18 months in total.
